Vivienne, the Dame

Bár végrehajtom rendszeresen az apró kis szokásaim, hogy a Földet kíméljem, ezek cseppeknek a tengerben tűnnek ahhoz képest, amit Vivienne Westwood képvisel.

A dáma, aki azok közé tartozik, akik a punk kulturát útnak indították, most rikító színű hajával, bölcs mosolyával, esőerdők megmentéséért kampányol, és meri kritizálni a fogyasztói társadalmat, végre valaki.

I always try to keep up with my little habits, what are useful to save the Earth. But I am just an another drop in the ocean if I compare myself to Vivienne Westwood, who have done many things to spare our globe – she’s a wave.

The dame, who was one of the people who started up with the punk culture, nowadays campaigns for the safety of rain forests, and dares to criticize consumersm – finally someone. Wise smile, carrot-coloured hair, rebel-characteristics – she’s such an icon and role model for me. If one day I have the chance to make an interview with a fashion designer, she will be the one.

Let’s celebrate Earth’s day with six meaningful quoutes from Vivienne. If she dared to say those things, you must dare to take her advices, especially if you take the last one into consideration.

Buy less. Choose well. Make it last. Quality, not quantity. Everybody’s buying far too many clothes.

Print some money and give it to us for the rain forests.

We are so conformist; nobody is thinking. We are all sucking up stuff; we have been trained to be consumers, and we are all consuming far too much.

The main message of Climate Revolution is that climate change is caused by the rotten financial system we’ve got, designed to create poverty and rip off any profits for a small amount of rich people. Meanwhile, it destroys the earth.

The sexiest people are thinkers. Nobody’s interested in somebody who’s just vain with a hole in their head, talking about the latest thing – there is no latest thing. It’s all rubbish.

It’s a philosophy of life. A practice. If you do this, something will change, what will change is that you will change, your life will change, and if you can change you, you can perhaps change the world.
